Young Entrepreneurs Revitalize Community Part I
writes, "Can you think back to your last twenty purchases, or better yet, your last five? Now ask yourself, “How far was the purchase from your place of residence?” and secondly, “Who was the owner of the establishment you made the purchase from?” Each question, equally important, addresses two problems plaguing Black communities and businesses. Young entrepreneurs Len Wood Armstrong and Clarence Love have addresses these issues, and have a stroke."

EMMONS SERVICE,INC
writes, "Emmons Service, Inc. takes pride in being a part of the Jackson community for over 87 years. Beginning in 1918 by means of horsedrawn carriage, Emmons Service has always been locally and family
owned.

They are not only the oldest but also the largest garbage removal service in Jackson County. Emmons Service was started in 1918 by William Patton Emmons.
At that time, residential rubbish was hauled by horse drawn wagons.

After his death, the business was purchased from his estate by William’s son, Robert Hague Emmons. In the early 1940’s, the horse drawn wagons were replaced
by motorized trucks.
