Chances are, you don’t know who your child is or what his/her culture may be. If you don’t know this, again, chances are you have very little control over their up bringing. I have found that most parents, including the public school system, has very little knowledge or awareness about the mind state and cultural influences of today’s youth.

| Al Sharpton Takes Interest In Willie |

JacksonBlazer writes, "Rhonda Anderson, mother of Willie Anderson III, met with The Rev. Al Sharpton on Thursday June 5 in Detroit, with hopes that he may take an interest in her son’s murder case. Sharpton was in Detroit at the Wayne/Oakland County National Action Network 1st Annual Leadership Meeting, on Thursday, June 05, 2008, at Greater Mt. Tabor Baptist Church. Reverend Al Sharpton, is the current National President of The National Action Network. He has been an outspoken advocate of Civil Rights, and is recognized nationwide for his continuous fight for social justice."

Foley said to me as he sentenced me to a life-term of 45 years in prison for 1st degree reckless homicide. That was 17 years ago. It took fifteen years for me to win my freedom for a wrongful murder conviction I was arrested for on Nov. 6, 1991.

| Hanover Horton Students Engage in Anti-War Protest |

Last week at Hanover Horton High School, Karl Gaisser showed up to school wearing a black arm band. What he thought of as a respectful form of protest to the war in Iraq came into question the next day when he and fellow sophomore and arm band wearer Travis Batterson were sent to the office by their teacher who felt the bands were disruptive. | Jackson County Health Survey Receives Community Foundation Support |

JacksonBlazer writes, "Jackson, MI The Jackson County Community Foundation has awarded $10,000 to Foote Health System’s Department of Prevention and Community Health to support the Jackson County Community Health Assessment. The Health Assessment is the result of an 18-month process coordinated by Foote’s Health Improvement Organization. Project partners, including numerous Jackson health and social service organizations, physicians and community leaders collaborated to design a comprehensive health survey on physical and mental health, access to health care, disease prevalence, health behaviors, household demographics and more."
